Museum of Arthropod in Pune was created by Mr. S.M. Ketkar. Right from his college days, he started collecting arthropods that today forms the nucleus of his museum. Museum of Arthropod in Pune was established in 1961 and puts on show the systematically arranged according to the various classes of Arthropoda like Crustaceans, Insects, Myriopoda and Arachnida. The museum also conducts educational and research activities, biological competitions for Zoology students, nature study tours and short tem courses in entymology.
