Bankot Fort
Fort of Bankot stands in Ratnagiri at the mouth of Bankot creek, where River Savitri (originating from Mahabaleshwar) meets the Arabian Sea. Bankot creek was a major sea trade route, and the ancient caves of Dasgaon and Mandangad are the evidences of the same. Bankot fort, which has witnessed many dynasties, is also known as Himmatgad and Fort Victoria.

How to reach :
To reach Bankot village, we have to go from Mumbai Goa Highway. Before Mahad, there is Toll phata, and the route is via Ambet–Mandangad–Bankot (about 248 km). It takes around one hour to reach the fort from village by walk.
