Malshej Ghat
Malshej Ghat is situated in Thane District. A very popular place as it is close to both Pune and Mumbai. Malshej Ghat is vital place in Sahyadri hills and really very attractive when it is under dark clouds and heavy fog. Heavy fog and amazing waterfalls are the spatiality of Malshej Ghat especially in monsoon.Malshej Ghat is for also famous for dark woods and the animals inside. This animal includes tigers, leopards, rabbits and peacocks etc. But truly a famous place near Malshej Ghat is Khireshwar which is 2/3 kms from rest house. The place is famous for flamingo birds. These birds comes here every year from Siberia between July and September. Its really an amazing view. Through Khireshwar village, one can visit the famous Harishchandragadh also.
Malshej Ghat is an ideal getaway for adventure lover, hikers & trekkers. The nature here is at its best. Close at hand is Shivneri Fort (approx 40 kms.), birthplace of the legendary Shivaji. The unusual hill has Buddhist Caves dating to the 3 rd century and is surmounted by an important historic fort.
Truly, Malshej Ghat is one of the popular hill station in Maharashtra because of the beauty of nature, huge ranges of Sahyadri, amazing view of Harishchandragadh and many other forts.

Accommodation:
Since the area is at a considerable distance from a small town, there are not many posh restaurants and shopping malls. Flamingo Hill is a resort run by MTDC – Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation in the vicinity. Other than MTDC resort, there are other private resorts where you can spend a day or two. Accommodation is also available in a nearby village called Madh. Madh is about 6 km away from Malshej ghat.

A 6th century old monument, located at an altitude of 1424 meter near Malshej Ghat, in Maharashtra, Harishchandragad Fort is a thriving center of trekking for adventurous people.
Pimpalgaon Joga Dam
A five kilometer long bund, blocking the plain waters of gorgeous Pushpavati River Pimpalgaon Joga Dam is located in Malshej Ghat in Maharashtra. The dam with its lofty cliffs and the vast expanse of backwaters presents spectacular scenery.
Malshej Falls
A hilltop with countless cascading waterfalls, Malshej Ghat is adorned with natural beauty and splendor.

Weather:
Malshej Ghat is frequently visited by tourists in all seasons. The mean annual temperature is 27°C and the climate is pleasant through out the year. Summers during March to May have the maximum temperature of 35°C and winters (December to February) have the minimum of 15°C. During Monsoons (June to September) the rain fall is average.
Best season is all around the year. From June to September, Malshej Ghat is a wonderland of fauna and flora. Monsoons are good to spot the bird flamingoes in Malshej Ghat.
