Albert Museum
The Victoria and Albert Museum was built in 1872 and is one of Mumbai’s prized structures. Among the many museums in Mumbai, the Victoria and Albert Museum is the oldest one, which is now renamed as ‘Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum’. In this museum, one can find a great number of archaeological findings, photographs, maps and relics that are extremely rare and that relate to Mumbai’s ancient times. These significant collections are treasured perfectly within the museum.
Over 4000 manuscripts and reference books are preserved neatly inside the museum. There are several clay models, costumes, beautifully shaped silver and copper that are some of the most impressive collections. Victoria and Albert Museum conserves photographs of ancient Bombay (Mumbai) and testimonials that belonged to the colonial past.
