Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Museum is situated on the Senapati Bapat Road, near Symbiosis Institute. This is maintained by the Symbiosis Institute, one of the renowned Educational Institutes of India.
The museum is a huge dome which shines brightly reflecting the glow of the great soul, it is meant for. The color of the dome is white with a light shade of blue which appears as a great visual display. The dome is surrounded by big trees which makes the dome look like lying in the lap of Mother Nature.

The various items that are preserved in the museum are- Babasaheb Ambedkar’s favorite wall clock, violin that Babasaheb used to learn, a paperweight carved with Babasaheb’s name, a night lamp, dining chairs and table along with footwear, clothes and cap which reminds us of the 4th conference on Buddhism in Nepal. Travel accessories, gardening tools, a silver ink-bottle that was gifted to him by Lord Mount Batten, the then Governor General of India are also preserved in the museum. There are other important articles also like utensils, books, trunk, pens, ink-pot, the bed on which this great soul breathed his last and the artistic depiction of the way he laid on that bed.
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was awarded the Bharat Ratna by the Government of India at the hands of the then president K.R. Venkatraman. If you climb the stairs, you can notice the prestigious award Bharat Ratna and the lines written on it. Likewise the silver ink bottle is a very beautiful piece of art on which the Queen’s picture can be seen. The museum also displays one of the letters written in his handwriting. So this museum incorporates many of the important belongings of this noble soul. Old photographs of events in Ambedkar’s life are preserved here and shown to the visitors with care.
