Mayani Bird Sanctuary
Mayani Bird Sanctuary is a bird sanctuary located near Vaduj, in Maharashtra, India. Mayani is well connected from district places like Satara and Sangali, and around 20 km from Vita. It is a market place for near by villages and a developed place with colleges and medical facilities.
Being one of the most prominent bird sanctuaries of India, Mayani Bird Sanctuary is a winter habitat to a large number and variety of migratory birds, every year. Flamingos, brahminy ducks, coot, common spoonbills, painted storks, black ibis, etc, can be found here in large groups.
Location:
The Mayani Bird Sanctuary lies in the Satara district of Maharashtra state, thirteen miles south-east of Vaduj at the junction of the Tasganv-Mograla and Malharpeth-Pandharpur roads. The town is walled and entered by gates on the west and east.
