About:
Sanjay Gandhi National Park is positioned in the picturesque hilly areas of Borivali, Mumbai. Also well-known by the name of Borivali National Park, it nurtures a varied range of fauna and flora. Located close to the city, this park, on a sprawling land of 104 sq kms, draws a large number of tourists throughout the year.
Fauna:
The sanctuary provides shelter to various species of animals like spotted deer, porcupine, mouse deer, black naped hare, rhesus macaque, Indian fling fox, Hanuman langur, barking deer, sambar and many more. One can also see around a large number of reptiles like pythons, crocodiles, monitor lizards, bamboo pit viper, cobras etc.

Road-The sanctuary is well connected by road to major cities.Rail-The closest railway station is located at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (40kms).Air-The closest airport is situated at Santa Cruz, which is at a distance of 16kms from the sanctuary.
Weather:
Weather in Sanjay Gandhi National Park is pleasant during the winter months but during the summer months the climate is very hot.

September to March.

Four rest houses and two camp sheds are available within the Sanjay Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary area for the visitors to reside. One can contact the wildlife authorities for bookings daily from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.
